Process Engineer Intern (Life Sciences)

Location: Emeryville, California, USA; willingness to relocate or work in one of hirify.global’s U.S. internship locations is required. Other locations may include Kansas City, Raleigh, Orange County, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Boston, San Diego, Kalamazoo, Denver, and Rockville.

Salary: USD 17–28.80 per hour

What you will do

• Develop and implement process engineering project deliverables under the guidance of an assigned mentor.
• Support the design and engineering of manufacturing facilities and process equipment.
• Contribute to projects involving renovations, retrofits, and new construction.
• Support facility infrastructure and critical utility systems.
• Document process design scope in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
• Collaborate with vendors, clients, contractors, peers, and industry leaders.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or Biochemical Engineering.
• Available to work full-time from May through August 2027.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Strong interest in the food and beverage or life sciences industries.
• Willingness to relocate or work in one of hirify.global’s U.S. internship locations.

Nice to have

• Progress toward or completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam registration.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 Suite, or Assemble.
• Experience with process optimization and lean manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with AEC industry regulations and standards.
• Previous process engineering or related internship or co-op experience.
