Process Engineer Intern (Paper Science)

Location: Neenah Mill, Neenah, Wisconsin, United States; 10+ week onsite internship starting in May 2026

Salary: $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Support process efficiency, cost savings, and technology advancement projects with the Technical and Operations teams.
• Participate in mill and production line operations to learn the technical properties and quality issues of paper-based materials.
• Work with engineers to identify paper defects and participate in new customer trials.
• Attend leadership meetings, report findings, and complete assigned follow-up tasks.
• Modify or create standard operating procedures with mill leadership.
• Deliver projects assigned by mill management.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Paper Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or another Engineering discipline.
• At least one completed year of coursework; two completed years preferred.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA in the academic field preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Ability to analyze information, identify opportunities, synthesize and communicate findings, and collaborate in a team setting.
• High initiative, drive, and curiosity to learn and improve business performance.
