Process Engineering Intern (Dairy Processing)

Location: Winsted, Minnesota, United States. The internship runs from May 31, 2027 to April 28, 2028; it is full-time from May 31 to August 13 and then part-time for up to 20 hours per week.

Salary: $22–$25 per hour

What you will do

• Learn the processes used to produce cheese and other dairy products.
• Learn how process lines are sized and specified.
• Support detailed calculations for process-line sizing.
• Calculate pump sizes and valve/control-valve sizes.
• Work with a mentor and participate in onboarding, evaluation, and professional development activities.

Requirements

• Current college enrollment, ideally within the final two years of study.
• Studies in Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Word skills are preferred.
• Availability to work full-time during the summer.
• Work authorization and a location suitable for the Winsted, Minnesota position are required; work visa sponsorship, relocation, and housing are not provided.
