Engineering Intern Sikeston (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Support autonomous maintenance activities, including equipment inspections, cleaning, lubrication, condition monitoring, standards, checklists, and visual management.
• Assist with World Class Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects across safety, quality, productivity, cost, and equipment performance.
• Collect, validate, analyze, and report manufacturing and maintenance data, including downtime, breakdowns, short stops, planned maintenance, and performance metrics.
• Support root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, and other problem-solving tools.
• Help improve preventive maintenance, spare-parts management, inventory processes, CMMS activities, and maintenance assignments.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams; present findings and recommendations.

Requirements

• Relevant studies in industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial technology engineering; operations, engineering management, analytics, supply chain, or related fields may also apply depending on the internship.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proactivity, curiosity, willingness to learn, and a collaborative, team-oriented work style.
• Graduation must occur after the internship ends.
• Availability for onsite work for 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week during the summer, with up to 20 hours per week during the academic year.
• Internship period: May 31, 2027–April 28, 2028; full-time through August 13, followed by part-time work.

Nice to have

• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of sustainability or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with Excel VBA, Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, or Python.
