Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Connectivity Leader (Manufacturing)

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; some travel is required.

What you will do

• Design end-to-end IIoT architectures connecting PLCs, SCADA, DCS, historians, industrial networks, cloud platforms, enterprise data platforms, analytics, and applications.
• Define reference architectures, standards, and implementation patterns for industrial devices, edge computing, gateways, and cloud-to-edge data pipelines.
• Lead IT/OT convergence initiatives, assess current environments, identify integration points, mitigate risks, and create architecture roadmaps.
• Guide protocol selection, industrial data modeling, device connectivity strategies, and edge-to-cloud data flows in partnership with engineering teams.
• Design secure architectures using network segmentation, OT zero-trust principles, and identity and access management across IT/OT boundaries.
• Provide architectural guidance through proof-of-concept, pilot, and production rollout phases, including troubleshooting complex connectivity and integration issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Significant hands-on experience designing or implementing IIoT, industrial connectivity, or OT systems architectures.
• Strong understanding of industrial control systems, field devices, industrial networking, enterprise networking, cloud, and data platforms.
• Experience with industrial protocols and connectivity approaches including OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET.
• Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity, secure integration patterns, industrial data modeling, time-series data, and ISA/IEC 62443 concepts.
• Experience communicating with engineering, IT, OT, and cybersecurity stakeholders and producing architecture documentation.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications in architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, or industrial systems.
• Experience with industrial platforms, edge runtimes, or IIoT platforms.
• Background in manufacturing, process industries, energy, or other OT-heavy environments.
• Experience integrating industrial data with analytics or AI use cases.
