Connected Systems Engineer (Industrial IoT): Designing, developing, and deploying connected, data-driven industrial systems that integrate factory-floor operations with enterprise and cloud platforms with an accent on Industrial IoT, edge computing, cloud connectivity, and OT/IT convergence. Focus on architecting secure, scalable, and highly available connected solutions, integrating industrial communication protocols, and leading technical initiatives.
Location: 100% remote for local U.S. candidates only
Salary: $130,000–$180,000 annually

What you will do
- Design, develop, and deploy connected, data-driven industrial systems.
- Integrate factory-floor operations with enterprise and cloud platforms.
- Architect secure, scalable, and highly available connected solutions.
- Work across Industrial IoT, edge computing, cloud connectivity, industrial networking, and OT/IT integration.
- Troubleshoot complex systems, lead technical initiatives, and mentor engineering teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Industrial IoT, industrial software engineering, or connected systems development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming experience with Python, C++, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, and Sparkplug B.
- Experience with AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, or Google Cloud IoT, plus AWS Greengrass or Azure IoT Edge.
- Understanding of industrial data acquisition, enterprise integration architectures, and secure connected industrial systems.
Nice to have
- Experience with digital twins, predictive maintenance, AI/ML, or advanced industrial analytics.
- Experience with InfluxDB or TimescaleDB.
- Familiarity with Unified Namespace architectures and event-driven industrial systems.
- Knowledge of IEC 62443 and relevant ISA, AWS, or Azure certifications.
