Manager, Industrial Controls Engineering (PLC/AI)

Location: USA remote with up to 60% travel to client locations and company headquarters

Salary: $149,000–$204,600 per year, plus benefits

What you will do

• Manage and provide technical direction to a team of 6–8 PLC R&D Controls Engineers.
• Own PLC software milestones across multiple projects and programs.
• Lead prototyping, testing, validation, and documentation of control system concepts and electrical designs.
• Ensure PLC software is reliable, maintainable, modular, and well documented.
• Promote version control, diagnostics, AI-assisted programming, simulation, Digital Twins, and automated testing.
• Communicate risks and technical tradeoffs while supporting troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, and people management.
• Hands-on expertise with Rockwell Automation PLC platforms, Motion Control, Safety PLC Systems, OT networking, and industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA development; Inductive Automation Ignition is preferred.
• Experience or exposure to AI-assisted PLC development, simulation tools, Digital Twins, and automated PLC testing.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive and/or fly to client locations and company headquarters.
