QA/QC Inspection Specialist, Energy Efficiency (Field)

Location: Maryland, United States — remote home office with local travel. Field requirements are 60–80% of the time, with a reliable vehicle required.

Salary: $60,000–$65,000 anticipated base salary. Published full-time pay range: $55,665–$94,631.

What you will do

• Conduct QA/QC assessments in residential homes according to utility program guidelines.
• Perform detailed field inspections verifying quantities and energy-efficiency technologies against utility rebate applications.
• Answer contractor and homeowner questions about energy efficiency and additional savings opportunities.
• Coordinate and schedule QA/QC activities, including field inspections.
• Prepare summary reports identifying additional opportunities found during quality-control visits.
• Contribute to program strategies, service design, marketing, and outreach campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, energy, communications, or a related field; education may be substituted with equivalent professional experience.
• At least one year of professional work experience, preferably in energy efficiency and residential construction.
• Must be based in Maryland and able to complete local field travel 60–80% of the time.
• Reliable vehicle, clear driving record, and ability to pass drug and background checks.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to lift up to 30 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, drive, walk, stand, and perform overhead arm movements.

Nice to have

• Experience with MHIC-licensed companies or residential inspections.
• Knowledge of energy-efficiency technologies, practices, and successful energy-efficiency programs.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Customer service, sales conversion, interpersonal, or residential energy-efficiency promotion experience.
