Design Release Engineer - Mechatronics Hardware

What you will do

• Design, develop, validate, and release mechatronics hardware, requirements, calibrations, and application software.
• Coordinate Product Development Team meetings and integrate components into prototype and production vehicles.
• Develop DFMEA, Interface Control Document strategies, Component Technical Specifications, timing plans, and Engineering Work Orders.
• Troubleshoot component- and vehicle-level issues using PRTS-Jira and implement technical solutions for new vehicle programs.
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering activities and manage multiple suppliers and supplier resident engineers.
• Support sourcing, build programs, cost reduction, product improvements, and engineering data management.

Requirements

• Broad technical knowledge with the ability to work independently on complex mechatronics hardware assignments.
• Experience coordinating engineering, supplier, plant, and cross-functional activities.
• Ability to develop technical specifications, requirements, design analyses, and validation plans.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future.
• This role is not eligible for relocation benefits; relocation costs are the selected candidate’s responsibility.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience with SOR, CTS, automotive PPAP, DRE Essentials, DFMEA, DFSS Black Belt, Red X, or OpEx.
• Experience with safety-critical systems, contract negotiation, build-to-print suppliers, or Corporate Common Components.
