Hardware Engineer - Electronics Packaging & Vehicle Integration (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own the mechanical architecture, design, and release of electronic packaging, housings, enclosures, and vehicle integration solutions for autonomous delivery vehicles.
• Design components and assemblies including castings, injection-molded parts, stampings, seals, brackets, PCBA mounts, connector interfaces, and vehicle mounting interfaces.
• Create production-quality 3D CAD models and drawings, lead design reviews, and define mechanical requirements and subsystem interfaces.
• Perform GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, design calculations, engineering analysis, and design verification testing.
• Partner with electrical, PCB, systems, manufacturing, supplier, reliability, and operations teams to deliver manufacturable, serviceable, reliable, and cost-effective products.
• Support supplier engagement, prototype builds, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement through launch and fleet deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience designing electromechanical products, electronics packaging, vehicle systems, robotics, automotive systems, or ruggedized hardware from concept through production.
• Experience packaging compute, electrical, communications, sensor, or power-electronics hardware into robust assemblies and enclosures.
• Strong experience with mechanical design, manufacturing processes, GD&T, tolerance analysis, interface definition, environmental sealing, vibration, shock, fatigue, corrosion prevention, and ingress protection.
• Extensive CAD experience, preferably NX and Teamcenter; SolidWorks or CATIA experience is also welcomed.
• Experience with design verification plans, proof-of-concept testing, root-cause investigations, and cross-functional technical leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with FEA, hand calculations, test data analysis, MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
• Experience with commercial vehicles, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or high-duty-cycle fleet products.
