Manufacturing Engineer I (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; onsite manufacturing role

What you will do

• Develop, validate, and maintain manufacturing methods, process flows, assembly procedures, operation sequences, and production documentation.
• Support the transition of new products from engineering to manufacturing in partnership with Design Engineering, NPI, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain.
• Implement engineering changes, ECOs, process updates, configuration management activities, and Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Cost improvements.
• Analyze workflows and manufacturing data to reduce cycle time and waste, improve ergonomics and capacity, and resolve quality and production issues.
• Develop and optimize test procedures, acceptance criteria, test fixtures, and system integration processes.
• Support PFMEA, process validation, root-cause investigations, CAPA, supplier performance improvements, and factory objectives for quality, delivery, cost, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, process engineering, industrial engineering, or NPI.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering documentation, mechanical assemblies, and production operations.
• Experience analyzing data and applying structured problem-solving methods to manufacturing or quality issues.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor equipment, advanced manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, automotive, medical device, or other high-tech manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, PFMEA, DFMEA, control plans, and corrective action processes.
• Experience with mechanical drawings, BOMs, engineering change documentation, ERP/MRP systems, statistical analysis, or process capability studies.
• Exposure to semiconductor equipment, vacuum systems, robotics, precision assemblies, fluid delivery systems, electromechanical systems, or automated production equipment.
• Green Belt certification or coursework in Lean/Six Sigma.
