ICT Designer (ICT Infrastructure)

Location: Hybrid role based in Birmingham, United Kingdom, with site visits and flexible work from hirify.global offices.

What you will do

• Manage, coordinate, and produce ICT designs under the direction of the ICT lead.
• Design ICT infrastructure for large-scale data center, pharmaceutical, medical technology, and other engineering projects.
• Support projects from concept through construction, including site visits, system walk downs, and ICT punch lists.
• Develop ICT packages, specifications, contract documents, scopes, and design documentation for FEED, concept, basis of design, and detailed design stages.
• Prepare ICT designs covering containment, copper and fibre cabling, racks, ICT rooms, wireless systems, LANs, AV, power, cooling, earthing, fire stopping, and suppression.
• Participate in client and internal meetings and support fee and capital budget proposals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of formal experience in ICT engineering design.
• Engineering degree or equivalent is desirable.
• Chartered status or progress toward chartership.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare specifications and contract documents.
• Awareness of American and European telecommunications industry standards.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Birmingham, United Kingdom, including site visits.

Nice to have

• RCDD certification.
• CNET certification, including CDCDP or CNIDP.
• Experience working in a BIM environment with Revit, Navisworks, or AutoCAD.
