Senior Mission Manager (Space)

Location: Hybrid, based in Harwell, UK, Coimbra, Portugal, or Athens, Greece. Candidates must have the legal right to work in their chosen location.

What you will do

• Own the full mission lifecycle from initial requirements through launch and in-orbit commissioning.
• Translate complex mission concepts into executable plans covering timelines, resources, budgets, and risks.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across systems engineering, AIT, manufacturing, supply chain, and mission operations.
• Coordinate customers, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders through structured communication and reporting.
• Oversee integration of launch services, ground segments, and regulatory approvals while ensuring technical, contractual, and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor mission managers, support continuous improvement, and contribute to proposals, mission planning, and cost modelling.

Requirements

• Experience delivering projects in complex, multidisciplinary environments, preferably in space or high-reliability engineering.
• Understanding of satellite systems, payloads, or mission operations.
• Ability to balance scope, schedule, cost, and risk across parallel workstreams.
• Strong stakeholder management, commercial awareness, and familiarity with contracts, suppliers, delivery frameworks, and space-sector regulatory requirements.
• Clear, structured communication and confidence making decisions in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.
• Legal right to work in the selected UK, Portuguese, or Greek location; application and CV in English.
