Team Leader - Overseas Territories Climate Finance Support Programme (Climate Finance)

What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership and accountability for the Climate Finance Support Programme.
• Lead programme mobilisation, inception planning, governance, work planning, reporting, risk management, and adaptive delivery.
• Oversee climate finance mobilisation, blended finance structuring, investor engagement, and project preparation.
• Guide the development of a prioritised pipeline of bankable climate-resilient projects in energy, water, and food-system resilience.
• Advise on capital allocation, due diligence, environmental and social safeguards, fiduciary controls, and reporting.
• Lead a multidisciplinary programme team and technical pool while engaging governments, investors, funders, and delivery partners.

Requirements

• Senior leadership experience delivering complex, high-value donor-funded programmes, ideally for FCDO or another UK Government client.
• Strong expertise in climate finance, blended finance, investment readiness, project preparation, or climate-resilient infrastructure financing.
• Experience with climate-resilient infrastructure, including renewable energy, water security, food-system resilience, nature-based solutions, or biodiversity.
• Experience operating in politically sensitive, multi-stakeholder, or multi-jurisdictional environments.
• Strong programme, financial, risk, compliance, safeguarding, and fiduciary management capabilities.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience working in UK Overseas Territories, small island developing contexts, remote island settings, or comparable environments.
• Experience with FCDO or UK Government-funded programmes.
