Senior Legal Counsel - Privacy

What you will do

• Provide embedded legal guidance to product and engineering teams on privacy-by-design across the game lifecycle.
• Advise on new features involving player data, personalization, live operations, online services, analytics, advertising, and monetization.
• Conduct and guide Data Protection Impact Assessments and other privacy risk assessments.
• Advise on GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy requirements, the Digital Services Act, AI-related regulation, and children’s data rules.
• Draft and negotiate data protection clauses, DPAs, SCCs, UK IDTAs, and other cross-border transfer mechanisms.
• Collaborate with GIS, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Marketing on user protections and platform obligations.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in the UK or an EU jurisdiction with at least 3 years of post-qualified experience or equivalent.
• Strong background in privacy and data protection law, including GDPR and UK GDPR.
• Experience advising on consumer-facing digital products or platforms and embedding legal guidance into product development.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-legal teams.
• Experience with children’s data, age verification, youth safeguarding, or age-appropriate design is preferred.
• Experience advising on advertising technology, analytics, data monetization, or products containing AI is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in the gaming industry or an in-house role in a fast-paced technology environment.
• CIPP/E, CIPM, or another privacy certification or specialization.
