Commercial Counsel (SaaS/Data Privacy)

What you will do

• Review, revise, and negotiate customer and prospect commercial agreements across the EMEA region.
• Advise the EMEA enterprise sales organization on contracting, customer agreement updates, and enablement.
• Provide strategic guidance on contracting, legal operations, process improvement, and contract lifecycle management.
• Maintain commercial legal playbooks and improve customer-facing templates in contract management and automation tools.
• Partner with product teams to assess how product updates affect existing and new customer agreements.
• Monitor legal trends and best practices in SaaS, data privacy, and EU/UK requirements.

Requirements

• Approximately five years of experience negotiating commercial contracts at high-growth technology companies.
• Experience with sales agreements, SaaS and enterprise B2B transactions, customer paper, and data processing agreements.
• Knowledge of GDPR and other data protection laws, with interest in data privacy.
• Qualified solicitor or lawyer admitted to practice in Ireland, England and Wales, or another European jurisdiction.
• Professional fluency in English and French, including the ability to review, draft, and negotiate agreements independently in both languages.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, self-initiative, and ability to manage high-volume agreement execution.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI tools such as Claude for contract review, drafting, and legal research.
• Knowledge of the EU AI Act.
• Experience negotiating partner contracts.
