Product Manager VPP Asset Optimization (Energy)

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands; hybrid working with 40% office, 40% home, and 20% flexible work. Working abroad is possible with manager approval for up to 3 weeks per year, with a maximum of 2 consecutive weeks.

Salary: €85,000–€100,000 gross annually, including FlexBudget and 8% holiday allowance; bonus or collective profit sharing may apply depending on the role.

What you will do

• Own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities for the VPP Asset Optimization domain.
• Lead product discovery and validate opportunities with traders, operations teams, engineers, optimization specialists, and other stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into scalable optimization products for batteries, wind farms, solar parks, CHP installations, EV charging, and demand response.
• Balance commercial value, operational reliability, technical complexity, and engineering capacity when making prioritization decisions.
• Drive delivery of strategic initiatives while safeguarding platform stability.
• Measure product performance and business impact through OKRs, KPIs, and operational metrics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Product Management experience leading a product, platform, or product domain.
• Experience with product strategy, roadmap development, discovery, and delivery.
• Strong stakeholder management, prioritization, and decision-making skills in complex organizations.
• Experience working closely with Agile engineering teams and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
• Solid technical foundation, data-driven mindset, and ability to communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a technically complex environment combining energy markets, software engineering, optimization, and operations.
