What you will do
- Lead the Group's central employment and labour law capability, providing strategic, commercial, and practical advice to HR, Legal, and business stakeholders.
- Advise on reorganisations, workforce transformation, consultation processes, executive employment matters, and complex organisational change.
- Oversee or support material employment disputes, litigation, investigations, employee data rights matters, and related privacy issues.
- Lead employment-law workstreams for cross-border projects, acquisitions, disposals, carve-outs, restructurings, and post-completion integration.
- Develop employment policies, governance frameworks, training, and consistent approaches to employment risk across jurisdictions.
- Manage external counsel relationships, legal budgets, matter allocation, forecasting, and cost control.
Requirements
- Qualified English solicitor or barrister, or equivalent, with a law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Minimum 6+ years' post-qualification experience with expertise in English employment law.
- In-house experience, including employment litigation, within an international business.
- Strong practical knowledge of contentious and non-contentious UK employment law and significant understanding of international employment law.
- Experience advising on cross-border employment matters, organisational change, external counsel, legal budgets, and competing priorities.
- Ability to provide concise advice and influence senior HR, legal, and business stakeholders in sensitive or high-pressure situations.
