Senior Legal Counsel I (UK Employment Law)

What you will do

• Advise HR directors, HR business partners, and operational managers on employee relations, executive matters, and workforce strategies.
• Manage UK Employment Tribunal claims, ACAS early conciliation, dispute resolution, and litigation risk mitigation.
• Advise on collective bargaining, trade union negotiations, industrial relations, and workforce restructuring.
• Lead legal oversight of TUPE transfers, outsourcing arrangements, commercial transitions, and service provision changes.
• Draft and implement employment policies, contracts, severance agreements, and compliance training materials.
• Provide additional support on UK GDPR workplace privacy, data subject access requests, small claims, marketing reviews, and operational agreements.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a current, clean practicing certificate.
• Typically 5+ years of post-qualification experience with substantial UK employment law experience.
• Deep knowledge of UK employment legislation, TUPE, trade unions, collective matters, and tribunal litigation.
• Experience advising senior executives and non-legal stakeholders with clear, commercially actionable guidance.
• Strong negotiation, communication, influencing, and external counsel management skills.
• Prior in-house or high-level secondment experience is strongly preferred.
