is building ActAI, a product focused on proactive AI applications that help users manage conversations, errands, organisation, and workflows with minimal prompting.
What you will do
- Own technical searches end-to-end across AI/ML, backend, frontend, mobile, infrastructure, and engineering leadership.
- Build talent maps and sourcing strategies across AI startups, technology companies, research organisations, communities, and international talent markets.
- Identify and headhunt high-quality passive candidates through LinkedIn, relevant platforms, communities, and networks.
- Assess technical profiles and understand candidates’ actual contributions, experience, and relevance to ActAI.
- Partner with engineering leaders to calibrate hiring bars, refine target profiles, and improve interview processes.
- Manage and close senior candidates, including compensation discussions, competing offers, and complex negotiations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of recruiting experience with substantial experience hiring software engineers and other technical talent.
- Strong record of independently delivering difficult technical hires through proactive headhunting.
- Good understanding of software engineering disciplines and the ability to evaluate technical profiles beyond company, title, and keywords.
- Strong sourcing, candidate management, negotiation, closing, judgement, ownership, and execution skills.
- Ability to advise hiring managers using evidence from the talent market.
Nice to have
- Experience recruiting AI/ML engineers, researchers, distributed systems engineers, or senior technical leaders.
- Experience hiring internationally across multiple technical talent markets.
- Experience recruiting for an early-stage AI or technology company.
