Senior Backend .NET Software Engineer

Location: United States; remote/home-based work

Salary: $119,219–$214,594 per year, plus variable pay opportunity

What you will do

• Lead design and architecture discussions for complex, scalable backend systems.
• Manage critical application lifecycle activities from design through deployment.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and promote coding and testing best practices.
• Evaluate technologies that improve scalability, maintainability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with product owners and partners to shape technical direction.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, build processes, deployment strategies, and Agile delivery practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in .NET 8, C# 12+, and ASP.NET Core.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, event-driven design, secure APIs, and authentication and authorization.
• Experience optimizing large-scale applications that process millions of transactions daily.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, containerization, Windows and Linux environments, Git, unit testing, API testing, MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, and observability tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare data standards such as EDI and HL7.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
• Familiarity with DRY, SOLID, and Clean Architecture principles.
