TL;DR
C# Developer (.NET): Building and supporting enterprise-level software systems for the Department of Veterans Affairs with an accent on .NET backend development, RESTful APIs, database design, and CI/CD delivery. Focus on designing scalable applications, implementing automated testing and performance optimization, and integrating cloud, DevOps, and security practices.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey, or New York will not be considered.
Salary: $85,389–$116,975 per year

What you will do
- Plan, design, integrate, test, deploy, maintain, and support software systems and subsystems.
- Develop .NET backend applications using C#, MVC, RESTful APIs, and database technologies.
- Build reusable solutions within Agile development frameworks and support production deployments.
- Implement automated testing, modularization, CI/CD pipelines, and software quality practices.
- Document software designs and collaborate with stakeholders and development colleagues.
- Use Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, and related development tools.
Requirements
- Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, OOP, design patterns, MVC, RESTful APIs, SQL Server, and Entity Framework.
- At least five years of professional software development experience using .NET technologies, including complex and enterprise-level projects.
- Bachelor’s degree with eight or more years of experience, master’s degree with five or more years, or Ph.D. with three or more years in a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience with cloud platforms, version control, CI/CD, unit testing, Agile methodologies, DevOps, infrastructure as code, and application security.
- Ability to perform code reviews, optimize application performance, mentor junior developers, and work independently and collaboratively.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with EDI X.12 medical claims, including 837, 834, and 277 transactions.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS.
