Senior Reporter (Biopharma and Biotech)

Location: 275 Grove Street, Newton, Massachusetts, United States. Hybrid arrangement with in-person work three days a week or more and flexibility to work remotely when not collaborating in an office or at an event.

Salary: $80,000–$94,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Produce enterprise reporting, in-depth features, and quick-turn news stories covering the biopharma and biotech industries.
• Report on operational and leadership changes, research, drug development, regulatory shifts, policy, and legislative developments.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, experts, newsmakers, and diverse sources.
• Attend industry events, conduct interviews, and incorporate event insights into published coverage.
• Collaborate with the PharmaVoice team on story planning and larger editorial projects.
• Perform daily editing to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of journalism experience, including 3 or more years reporting on pharma or life sciences.
• Demonstrated success reporting and writing about the business of pharmaceuticals, supported by a strong portfolio.
• Knowledge of commercialization, drug research and development, regulatory trends, policy, AI in pharma and biotech, and global industry dynamics.
• Ability to analyze clinical trial data, scientific research, policy changes, earnings reports, and industry trends.
• Strong source-building, deadline management, headline-writing, copy-editing, and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism, English, or a related field.
