Salary: $95,300 - $158,800 (U.S. National Base Pay Range)

What you will do

• Define the aims, scope, and formats to develop a cohesive and impactful biotechnology journal.
• Leverage a network of leading researchers to attract world-leading article submissions.
• Travel extensively to engage with the research community, attending conferences and visiting institutes.
• Recruit and manage the in-house editorial team and coordinate rigorous submission evaluations.
• Foster partnerships with other editorial, operations, marketing, and press teams.
• Contribute to the overall publishing strategy of Cell Press.

Requirements

• Proven biotechnology research expertise and a broad interest across the journal's scope.
• Deep network of international researchers with a proven ability to engage and influence.
• Ability to think conceptually and critically about a wide range of scientific issues.
• Proven organizational, project management, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Editorial experience is valued, though candidates from academic assignments are encouraged to apply.
