Senior Reporter (Biotech)

Location: 605 Third Avenue, New York, United States. Hybrid arrangement with in-person work three days per week or more and flexibility to work remotely on other days.

Salary: $80,000–$94,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Report enterprise stories, in-depth features, and quick-turn news about the biopharma and biotech industries.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, newsmakers, and experts.
• Cover industry events, conduct interviews, and incorporate findings into published stories.
• Analyze operational and leadership changes, research, drug developments, policy shifts, and legislative developments.
• Collaborate with the PharmaVoice team on editorial planning and larger projects.
• Perform daily editing to maintain clarity, accuracy, consistency, and editorial standards.

Requirements

• At least five years of journalism experience, including at least three years reporting on pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
• Proven success reporting and writing about the business of pharmaceuticals, supported by a strong portfolio.
• Knowledge of commercialization strategies, drug research and development, regulatory trends, policy, AI in pharma and biotech, and global industry dynamics.
• Ability to interpret clinical trial data, scientific research, policy changes, earnings reports, and industry trends.
• Strong source-building, deadline management, headline writing, copy-editing, and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism, English, or a related field.
