Quality Inspector - Mechanical

Location: Lyndhurst, VA 22952, USA; onsite manufacturing environment with no travel required.

Salary: Dependent on experience.

What you will do

• Inspect mechanical components and assemblies during production and final inspection.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, configurations, and weld quality using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications for compliance.
• Document inspection findings, deviations, corrective actions, and traceable quality records.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues and support root cause analysis and process improvements.
• Enforce safety protocols throughout the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of experience in mechanical inspection, quality control, or manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience with inspection tools, dimensional measurement, fabrication, assembly, welding, or machining processes.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, and to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in heat, cold, dust, and noise.

Nice to have

• Technical certification in welding or quality control.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems.
