Consultant, Procurement Category Mgmt

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States. Hybrid SuccessFlex model with three remote workdays and two in-office days per week; on-site attendance is expected primarily on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Salary: $97,000–$145,000 expected starting annual salary range; national range $97,000–$180,000.

What you will do

• Manage sourcing requests, contract pipelines, supplier relationships, and vendor agreements for multimillion-dollar procurement categories.
• Research markets, benchmark suppliers, monitor purchasing trends, and develop category strategies for highly technical domains.
• Build demand forecasts, service-level requirements, total cost of ownership models, risk requirements, and cost-reduction recommendations.
• Lead RFP, RFQ, and RFI activities, negotiate contract terms and service-level agreements, and document savings for Finance approval.
• Assess supplier risk and coordinate reviews with Information Risk Management, Technology Review Boards, Privacy, Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders.
• Mentor and train associates on procurement policies, processes, and sourcing skills.

Requirements

• Typically eight or more years of supply chain management experience, including relationship management, or equivalent related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, procurement, business, finance, accounting, management information systems, economics, or a related field is preferred.
• Specialized knowledge of supply chain management, procurement practices, financial controls, legal considerations, and complex initiatives.
• Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, facilitation, analytical, and influencing skills.
• Ability to lead projects, develop supplier relationships, train others, and work effectively with limited formal authority.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
