Mechanical Engineer III (Senior)

Location: Sussex, Wisconsin, USA; travel to other hirify.global facilities may be required.

What you will do

• Design, validate, test, and bring new products and moderately complex components to market.
• Define functional requirements, product specifications, material specifications, and bills of materials.
• Evaluate designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, risk, safety, and fitness for use.
• Use CAD and CAE systems to create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, sourcing, quality, service, and product teams to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and lead aspects of cross-functional development projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with new product design, machine design, materials including plastics, aluminum castings, and sheet metal, and electrical system integration.
• Experience with 3D modeling using ProE or SolidWorks and analysis methods such as FEA or CFD.
• Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, manage multiple projects, and make engineering decisions with minimal technical guidance.
• Experience working in cross-functional or matrix organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience creating and releasing engineering Change Notices, parts, and bills of material.
• Experience with Windchill or equivalent PLM and SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
• Experience integrating circuit breakers, batteries, electrical panels, and AC generators.
• Strong written communication, presentation, visualization, and technical translation skills.
