New Scope Project Manager (Defence)

Location: Adelaide or Melbourne, Australia. Hybrid work from home and office is available, with a 9-day fortnight considered. Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.

What you will do

• Deliver outcomes on small to medium projects supporting combat systems solutions for the Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program.
• Manage the development and execution of Tasking Statements to cost and schedule.
• Develop Work Breakdown Structures, Bases of Estimate, project plans, estimates, cost accounts, and schedules.
• Lead status reporting at Steering Committee Meetings, Gate Reviews, Customer Reviews, and Progress Meetings.
• Manage Tasking Statement Proposals and identify Value for Money initiatives.
• Foster collaboration between customers, internal and external stakeholders, and project teams.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, or Business.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management or bid management; defence or naval project experience is preferred.
• Understanding of planning, scheduling, and Earned Value Management techniques.
• Experience with Cost Schedule System Reporting or a related Earned Value Management system.
• Experience managing proposals and preparing briefing packs for executive-level approvals.
• Demonstrated experience with Deltek Open Plan Professional is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in defence or naval projects.
• Eligibility for Australian Institute of Project Management CPPM accreditation or similar.
