Location: Melbourne, Australia. Hybrid work from home and office and a 9-day fortnight may be considered. Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.

What you will do
- Lead engineering and project management activities across Hobart Class Destroyer and Hunter Class Frigate capability programs.
- Develop and estimate project scope, schedules, costs, performance metrics and project management plans.
- Plan and execute project scope, manage risks and opportunities, and drive technical outcomes within compressed delivery windows.
- Direct monthly reporting, integrating schedule progress, Earned Value Management, risk and opportunity data, and Estimate at Completion updates.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams of up to 50 specialists, manage two Project Managers, and develop team capability.
- Represent project management during Integrated Baseline Reviews and Major System Reviews, ensuring technical and schedule exit criteria are met.
Requirements
- Australian citizenship and eligibility to hold or obtain NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance.
- Tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering or Business; postgraduate Project Management qualification is desirable.
- At least 5 years of Project Manager experience in the Defence sector is desirable.
- Strong expertise in project planning, complex scheduling, Earned Value Management, risk and opportunity management, and project documentation.
- Experience leading and influencing multidisciplinary, matrixed teams of up to 50 personnel and engaging internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with Deltek Open Plan Professional is preferred, along with knowledge of system development lifecycles and systems engineering domains.
Nice to have
- Postgraduate qualification in Project Management.
- Deltek Open Plan Professional experience.
- Experience in Defence-sector project management and AIPM CPPD accreditation or equivalent.
