TL;DR
Senior Avionics Systems and Flight Test Engineer (Avionics/Aerospace): Designing, integrating, certifying, and flight-testing complete avionics systems for military, special-mission, and aviation programs with an accent on requirements engineering, system safety, and FAA certification. Focus on developing OASIS and EICAS configurations, supporting TSO/STC projects, and leading complex system integration and flight-test activities.

Location: Onsite in Mineral Wells, Texas, United States. Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts; domestic and international travel may exceed 30%.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, implement, and analyze complete aircraft avionics systems and architectures.
  • Review customer requirements, evaluate project feasibility, and support customer development and design activities.
  • Perform system and software integration, subsystem analysis, requirements specification, modeling, and performance analysis.
  • Develop testing applications and modify tools for integration activities and formal certification tests.
  • Lead OASIS and EICAS configuration development, avionics flight testing, and TSO/STC certification support.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers, lead project engineering teams, and advise management on advanced engineering applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems, software, electrical, computer, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least five years of related avionics and technical professional experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of avionics systems engineering, product requirements, requirements management tools, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of FAA and other avionics certification processes, including system safety analysis.
  • Must be able to perform engineering work during aircraft flight tests and travel domestically and internationally, sometimes more than 30%.
  • Access to United States export-controlled information is required.
