Senior Architect (Fitness)

Location: On-site in Pompano Beach, Florida, United States. Local travel and site visits are required; out-of-state applicants must be mobile within two weeks.

What you will do

• Lead architectural vision, gym layout planning, and design standards across new locations.
• Develop and manage floor plans, equipment layouts, interior elevations, finish plans, and coordinated construction drawing sets.
• Produce or oversee 3D visualizations, concept mockups, and branded architectural materials.
• Coordinate with engineers, general contractors, equipment vendors, field operations, leadership, and marketing.
• Conduct site evaluations, field verifications, and construction progress oversight.
• Maintain equipment standards, templates, and layout best practices while ensuring code and ADA compliance.

Requirements

• Professional degree in Architecture, B.Arch or M.Arch.
• Active Florida architectural license, with the ability to obtain licenses in Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, or New Jersey.
• At least 4 years of commercial architecture or interior planning experience.
• Strong SketchUp or comparable rendering software skills and a portfolio showing technical documentation and 3D visualization.
• Experience with permitting authorities, municipalities, construction documents, applicable codes, ADA standards, and life-safety requirements.
• On-site work in Pompano Beach is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in fitness, big-box retail, hospitality, or other high-traffic environments.
• Experience with space planning, traffic flow, and equipment adjacencies.
