Reinsurance Placement Analyst

Location: Richmond, VA, United States. US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available. The role includes 5–15% travel depending on treaty placement needs.

Salary: $58,500–$121,900 annually, plus potential eligibility for the company’s annual incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead or support ceded reinsurance placements across multiple product lines, including structuring, placement, administration, and renewals.
• Prepare submissions with product overviews, contract wording, and data requirements, and ensure contracts reflect agreed terms.
• Build relationships with reinsurers and brokers while managing inquiries, timelines, documentation, and internal responses.
• Partner with underwriting leadership, Data & Analytics, accounting, processing, Legal, and claims teams.
• Coordinate underwriting and claims audits and maintain Risk Transfer, SOX, regulatory, and other compliance documentation.
• Prepare treaty summaries, schematics, executive summaries, reporting updates, and internal education materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Analyst level: 3–5 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, or broking preferred; Senior Analyst level: 5+ years of insurance or reinsurance experience required.
• Reinsurance contract wording experience: 1–2 years preferred at Analyst level and 5+ years preferred at Senior Analyst level.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, analytical, and project-management skills.
• Knowledge of insurance, reinsurance accounting, actuarial concepts, reinsurance structures, and contract wording.
• US work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• ARE, CPCU, or ARM certification.
• Catastrophe modeling knowledge.
