Actuarial Consultant (Enterprise Risk Management)

Location: Securian home office; hybrid arrangement with three office days per week for associates within a 90-minute commutable distance.

Salary: $89,000–$164,300 base pay per year.

What you will do

• Advance enterprise financial risk initiatives through analysis, workstream leadership, and recommendations for risk-aware business decisions.
• Develop and enhance frameworks for interest rate, liquidity, equity, and credit risk within Asset Liability Management.
• Coordinate ALM governance and support the Asset Liability Management Working Group.
• Lead analytical workstreams covering insurance risk capacity, reinsurance, emerging risks, and the enterprise insurance risk framework.
• Support the Mortality Oversight Group and facilitate cross-functional discussions across Solutions Groups, Finance, Actuarial, and Asset Management.
• Translate technical analyses into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Requirements

• ASA, FSA, or significant progress toward an actuarial designation.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences and navigate complex, ambiguous problems.
• Experience managing analytical projects and developing recommendations to support business decisions.
• Initiative, ownership, accountability, adaptability, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively across functions.

Nice to have

• Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) experience.
• Risk governance experience.
