Senior Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

Location: Remote. Active Secret clearance required.

What you will do

• Design, develop, optimize, and operate enterprise data ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and Microsoft Fabric platform components.
• Build scalable Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion architectures for structured and semi-structured data.
• Administer Fabric tenants, workspaces, capacities, security controls, governance, and hybrid connectivity.
• Develop data quality validation, cleansing, reconciliation, monitoring, automated testing, and alerting capabilities.
• Build CI/CD deployment pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for data platform artifacts and environments.
• Mentor data engineers, review technical implementations, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with architecture, governance, cybersecurity, application, and source-system teams.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance and significant experience with enterprise data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and enterprise cloud data environment administration.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory or comparable data integration technologies, SQL, Spark, and PySpark.
• Experience with medallion architectures, schema validation, data cleansing, normalization, reconciliation, and data quality controls.
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines, implementing infrastructure-as-code, managing source control, and promoting deployments across environments.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles, including RBAC, identity integration, encryption, least-privilege access, production reliability, and technical leadership.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification.
• Advanced Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, tenant, capacity, workspace, and deployment pipeline experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Privileged Identity Management, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Experience with disaster recovery, rollback, business continuity, metadata management, data lineage, and enterprise data governance.
• Experience in Department of Defense or other federal data environments.
