Sr Data Integration Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

Location: Hybrid, up to 50% remote, based at a Compeer office in Illinois, Minnesota, or Wisconsin. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Base pay: $94,400–$142,900 USD annually, plus variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain ETL/ELT solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, notebooks, Lakehouses, Warehouses, and SSIS.
• Develop and administer data platform databases, data warehouses, Lakehouses, and integration components.
• Create reliable, automated processes for data ingestion, transformation, validation, synchronization, and publishing.
• Design secure, performant consumption views, curated data products, SQL views, and semantic-model-ready datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline failures, data anomalies, data quality issues, and reconciliation problems across source and downstream systems.
• Support database backup and disaster recovery procedures, documentation, on-call issue resolution, and cross-functional data initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL environments, SSIS packages, and ETL development using SQL Server Data Tools.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and T-SQL, data modeling, normalization, query tuning, indexing, constraints, query plans, and relational database concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric capabilities including Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and notebooks.
• Experience with SSRS, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric reporting, or comparable analytics tools, plus both OLTP and analytical data solutions.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, software deployment, build automation, and promotion across development, test, and production environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience; valid driver’s license and strong communication skills required.
