Data Platform Administration Architect (Databricks/Azure)

Location: Remote within the United States; position associated with Houston, Texas.

Salary: $119,327–$161,092 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, administration, governance, and operational support of enterprise data platforms.
• Manage Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, and related Azure services across production and non-production environments.
• Own platform reliability, availability, scalability, security, performance, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Lead change and release management, including deployment planning, rollback strategies, CAB assessments, and post-release validation.
• Coordinate critical incident response, major incident management, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Drive CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, platform modernization, cost optimization, and continuous service improvement while mentoring platform engineers and administrators.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise data platforms, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform administration, or data operations.
• Hands-on production administration experience with Databricks and Azure data platforms, including ADLS, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure IAM, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
• Experience with platform provisioning, environment strategy, capacity planning, workload management, performance tuning, cost optimization, observability, alerting, and operational dashboards.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL-aligned incident, change, release, problem, service request, knowledge, and major incident management processes.
• Experience with ServiceNow or an equivalent ITSM platform, enterprise release management, critical production incident response, RCA reporting, and operational readiness reviews.
• Experience with cloud governance, security, access management, compliance, SOX or audit-driven environments, and leadership of platform or engineering teams. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
