Senior Actuarial Support Analyst (Healthcare Analytics)

Location: United States; fully remote with about 5% travel, including possible travel to Boston, MA for onboarding and occasional in-person meetings and company events

Salary: $105,000–$115,000 annually, plus benefits and bonus

What you will do

• Design, maintain, and lead complex financial models for cost-saving initiatives and business cases.
• Analyze prior authorization and claims trends, decision patterns, cost drivers, and potential savings opportunities.
• Use statistical and data visualization tools to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in claims data.
• Prepare executive-level reports and presentations on savings achievements, project performance, and future opportunities.
• Advise leadership and internal and external stakeholders on cost-saving strategies and actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with clinical and customer success teams and lead post-implementation assessments to measure and refine results.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare analytics, cost containment, or a similar healthcare role, preferably with a payer, provider, or managed care organization.
• Proficiency with data analytics and visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and advanced Excel.
• Strong understanding of healthcare cost drivers and medical claims data.
• Experience with data cleaning, data analysis, and data-driven problem-solving.
• Ability to transform complex data into actionable insights and clear, concise reports.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with prior authorization and utilization management processes.
• Proficiency in R, Python, Scala, AWS S3, Airflow, Athena, or Spark.
• Experience working with prior authorization and utilization management data.
