Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; home office

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Deliver platform capabilities across infrastructure, developer tooling, ML frameworks, and domain-focused roadmap initiatives.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Design scalable, resilient cloud-native systems using microservices, APIs, containers, and automation.
• Build AI-driven applications by integrating machine learning components and intelligent automation.
• Conduct system design reviews, define success metrics, and improve engineering processes through data-driven decisions.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and collaborate with Product Management, Catalog Operations, and Data Science.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, automation, software design patterns, API design, and platform development.
• Experience with full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
• Ability to integrate AI/ML components and develop intelligent automation using Python, JavaScript, and Java.
• Strong problem-solving, requirements analysis, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to support design reviews, prototyping, continuous improvement, and engineering best practices.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant computer science or software engineering field and 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
