Senior Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $220,500–$298,500 per year, with potential bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead complex application segments and major product or system changes end to end.
• Design durable software and solve cross-cutting technical problems with complex dependencies.
• Build production AI solutions aligned with AI-Native Principles and evaluate their accuracy.
• Define coding principles, engineering standards, testing strategies, and shared tooling.
• Drive best-practice adoption and provide feedback and architectural guidance to engineers across teams.
• Partner with Architecture, Product, Operations, and other groups on cross-functional designs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing systems and software for large business environments.
• 5+ years designing complex distributed systems, platforms, or business applications.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI into production software, including AI evaluation tools, agentic workflows, and production AI features.
• Experience with AI/ML platforms such as Vertex AI, SageMaker, or Bedrock; LLM APIs, agent orchestration frameworks, vector databases, and Python.
• Full-stack depth in at least one area, including React, Angular, SwiftUI, Kotlin, Java, TypeScript, Spring, or Node.
• Production experience with AWS or GCP, a BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, and strong communication and mentoring skills.
