Senior Manager, Platform Engineering (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Mostly on-site in Chicago, Illinois, United States

Salary: $170,000–$220,000 in Kansas, $187,000–$242,000 in Chicago, and $212,500–$275,000 in New York, plus possible annual incentive compensation and long-term equity participation.

What you will do

• Lead and manage platform engineers building and operating cloud-native infrastructure across AWS and on-premises Linux and Kubernetes environments.
• Design hybrid cloud and on-premises platform architectures focused on scalability, reliability, security, and resilience.
• Collaborate with software engineering, operations, application, and other cross-functional teams to deliver platform projects.
• Drive infrastructure as code practices using Terraform and Pulumi to automate and standardize deployments.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for platform reliability and performance.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership across the Platform Engineering organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with major cloud vendors, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure, with strong AWS expertise.
• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes workloads in cloud and on-premises Linux environments.
• Experience leading high-performing engineering teams and delivering production architectures and projects.
• Knowledge of cloud-native and platform architecture, Linux systems administration, networking, security, and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Pulumi, and Jenkins.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Understanding of financial markets.
• AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer certification, Kubernetes CKA or CKAD certification, or equivalent.
