Senior Manager, Infrastructure Engineering (Cloud-Native Platform)

Location: Austin, TX. Candidates based in the Austin or Atlanta metro area follow a hybrid model with three days per week in the office.

Salary: $211,000–$291,000 annual base salary, with potential eligibility for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead a distributed infrastructure and platform engineering team through hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
• Own the platform and infrastructure roadmap, translating broader strategy into quarterly priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Drive the transition toward cloud-native, containerized, and orchestrated environments using technologies such as Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code.
• Ensure infrastructure, data, and messaging layers support global scale, performance, availability, reliability, and security targets.
• Improve developer productivity across build, test, deployment, and observability workflows while reducing friction and cycle time.
• Partner with engineering, product, security, architecture, sales, and other stakeholders; contribute to technical designs, architecture reviews, and implementation when needed.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional infrastructure engineering experience, 5+ years of software engineering experience, and 4+ years directly managing engineers.
• Expertise in cloud-native and platform architecture, containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Hands-on experience optimizing global performance and security with modern edge and network platforms such as Cloudflare.
• Strong systems engineering and UNIX/Linux fundamentals, with experience evaluating system design trade-offs and architectural weaknesses.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python, Golang, Scala, Java, or similar languages; relational databases and external service integrations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, plus experience with Agile methodologies and distributed stakeholder collaboration.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in infrastructure, platform, or SaaS engineering environments.
• Track record of delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget with satisfied technical and business stakeholders.
