Platform Engineer II (Energy)

Location: Houston, United States; on-site

Salary: $118,000–$151,000 annually

What you will do

• Build and improve platform services by writing code, reviewing changes, and supporting deployments.
• Design and implement solutions that improve scalability, reliability, and developer experience.
• Maintain and operate CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and other core platform systems.
• Participate in incident response and retrospectives to drive operational learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate platform needs into practical solutions.
• Own tasks and smaller projects while developing toward ownership of larger platform areas.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with AWS or another major cloud provider.
• Experience contributing to the operation of production systems, ideally in distributed or cloud environments.
• Familiarity with security best practices and automation tools.
• Experience with some of Docker, Kubernetes, Python or other scripting languages, Datadog or similar tools, RabbitMQ or event-driven systems, Terraform, networking, PostgreSQL, and Linux administration.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

• Exposure to multi-team environments or shared platform services.
• Interest in analytics, telemetry, or IoT systems.
• CI/CD or observability experience beyond the basics.
• A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for learning from senior engineers.
