Orbital Tube Welder and Fabrication Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. First shift: 5:00am–2:30pm; second shift: 2:00pm–10:30pm. The role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, so candidates must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Salary: $24–$58.20 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Create, follow, and improve procedures for setting up and operating orbital welding systems.
• Work from blueprints and approved drawings to cut, prepare, and weld tubing and fittings.
• Set up, maintain, and manage spare parts for orbital welding equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering on process improvements and support final vehicle integration.
• Assemble and calibrate liquid controllers and related systems.
• Inspect and proof completed assemblies using borescopes and other inspection tools while maintaining clean work areas.

Requirements

• 3+ years of welding, machining, or manufacturing experience, or a certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, welding, or electronics.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted and stand for at least 8 hours.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
• Ability to work effectively in small teams and support production needs.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements: U.S. person status or eligibility for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Formal orbital weld training certification and 3+ years of orbital welding experience.
• TIG welding, clean room, or aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Airframe and powerplant (A&P) license.
• Strong forklift experience.
• Experience training teammates in orbital tube welding.
