Orbital Welder (Aerospace)

Location: Rocket production facility in Briggs, Texas, United States. Onsite work with availability for all shifts, overtime, and weekends as required; first shift is 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.

What you will do

• Fabricate, bend, face, fit, tack, and weld propulsion tubing assemblies.
• Cut, prepare, and clean tubing and fittings before welding.
• Set up, operate, and maintain orbital welding equipment and execute qualified weld schedules.
• Perform visual and borescope inspections of welds and internal tube surfaces.
• Work from approved 2D/3D drawings, models, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering and quality teams to resolve fabrication and inspection issues while maintaining safe, clean work areas.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of hands-on orbital welding experience and the ability to work independently.
• Strong manual GTAW welding, hand-fitting, tack-welding, tube-bending, and tube-facing skills.
• Experience welding to AWS D17.1 or equivalent aerospace standards.
• Ability to read and interpret aerospace 2D and 3D drawings and use precision measurement tools.
• Experience with visual and borescope inspections and fabrication shop equipment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.

Nice to have

• Three or more years of orbital welding experience.
• Experience with propulsion or high-pressure fluid systems and aerospace flight or test hardware.
• Orbital welding training or AWS D17.1 GTAW certification.
• Familiarity with AN and NPT aerospace fittings and aerospace or medical cleanliness standards.
• Experience inspecting tube assemblies with vector measuring machines.
