Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer (Post-Quantum Cryptography)

What you will do

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Advise on quantum-resistant algorithm migration plans and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies.
• Assess cryptographic inventories and identify migration priorities.
• Communicate quantum risks to non-technical leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Provide policy and guidance input for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards, including FIPS 203, 204, and 205.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must possess or qualify for Public Trust (MBI) clearance and pass a government security investigation.
• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5 years in quantum computing and cryptography; a related master's degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms such as Shor's and Grover's algorithms, quantum information theory, post-quantum cryptography, and quantum-resistant algorithms.
• Experience with Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, Microsoft Quantum Development Kit, classical and quantum simulation tools, and cryptographic standards such as NIST and ISO/IEC 19790.
• Experience in project management or project-oriented environments with configuration management; occasional travel may be required.

Nice to have

• IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification.
• Experience supporting large corporations or government agencies such as GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.
