Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered. Occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Develop quantum-resistant algorithm migration plans and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies.
• Assess organizational cryptographic inventories and identify migration priorities.
• Communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Provide policy and guidance inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards, including FIPS 203, 204, and 205.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI), Level 4, and pass the required government background investigation.
• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5 years of quantum computing and cryptography experience in a large corporation or government agency; a related master's degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms such as Shor's and Grover's algorithms, and quantum information theory.
• Expertise with Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, Microsoft Quantum Development Kit, post-quantum cryptography, cryptographic standards, and classical and quantum simulation tools.
• Experience with project management or project-oriented environments and configuration management across the project lifecycle.

Nice to have

• IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information assurance, information security, information resource management, or a related field.
