Staff Applications Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; on-site. The role may require up to 20% travel to customer facilities and trade shows.

Salary: $158,000–$189,000 per year.

What you will do

• Guide technical customers through the use and integration of communication products.
• Build long-term relationships with customers and provide technical leadership to the Business Development team.
• Author technical application notes, user manuals, white papers, diagrams, and other customer documentation.
• Transfer customer feedback to product development teams and help shape the product roadmap.
• Recreate, troubleshoot, and solve customer-reported electronics and software anomalies.
• Develop processes and procedures for product development and application support.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in technical product development or application support.
• In-depth knowledge of RF electronics and communication systems, including link budgets.
• Experience with FPGA and embedded software for software-defined radio applications.
• Working proficiency in C, C++, or Python.
• Experience with high-speed digital systems, power electronics, DSP, embedded software, and mechanical interfaces.
• Must meet U.S. space technology export-control eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying protected status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Public technical communication samples, such as application notes or user manuals.
• Experience with high-reliability electronics, aerospace, or small satellites.
• Experience in technical product planning, marketing, sales, or customer-focused proposal solutions.
