Embedded Software Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Candidates must be lawfully authorized to work in the U.S. and qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR requirements.

Salary: $144,020–$184,026 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

hirify.global develops commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing systems, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses.

What you will do

• Develop reliable firmware controlling spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operations throughout the mission.
• Own software design, development, testing, integration, verification, and validation.
• Capture requirements and perform initial design trade studies for open-ended technical problems.
• Build bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded software in C++.
• Improve the reliability, availability, quality, and performance of flight software.
• Support flight operations across the full software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
• At least 3 years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
• Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware and software systems.
• Strong C++ development skills and understanding of C++ language concepts.
• U.S. work authorization and U.S. person status are required for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Experience with safety-critical software, especially in aerospace applications.
• Experience with Python or Rust.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and computer networking.
