Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Site-based in Carlsbad, California; Duluth, Georgia; or Germantown, Maryland. Employees work at least 3 days per week from a hirify.global office or work location. US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.

Salary: $117,000–$185,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $145,000–$218,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deliver, and support embedded software for Ka-band, L-band, and 5G satellite terminal products.
• Contribute to software engineering within an agile development team alongside a technical lead.
• Participate in software design, development, and code reviews to deliver high-quality products.
• Collaborate with software engineers and other engineering teams to coordinate timely delivery.
• Work as an individual contributor and travel up to 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or computer engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands-on software development experience with C/C++ and Python.
• 3–5 years of experience with Linux or UNIX.
• Hands-on experience with object-oriented methodology and development.
• Experience using AI tooling in software development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and software design evaluation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust, unit testing, POSIX, Bash, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Linux kernel development, multithreaded programming, and version control systems.
• Coursework or familiarity with RF and satellite communications principles.
